What is emotì ?

emotì is the EV charging network of Canton Ticino, Switzerland, that aims to offer more than a hundred public charging stations. emotì is a partner of the Swiss network evpass.

Subscription

Which subscription is best for me?

emotì offers two types of subscription:

Member

CHF 8.00 / month

Instant power, up to

3.7 kW : CHF 0.22 / kWh

11 kW : CHF 0.26 / kWh

22 kW : CHF 0.30 / kWh

Non-member

Free

Instant power, up to

3.7 kW : CHF 0.42 / kWh

11 kW : CHF 0.46 / kWh

22 kW : CHF 0.50 / kWh

In addition to the subscriptions, a parking fee is calculated as follows: 50% of the local parking fee until the vehicle is fully charged, then 200% of the local parking fee while fully charged vehicle is parked (minimum CHF 1.- /h).

Non-member
If you only need to charge your vehicle less than 3 times a month or simply want to use emotì occasionally, sign up for the free pay-as-you-go option and start charging your vehicle immediately using our mobile app.

Member
If you charge your car regularly, become a member and enjoy access to the charging network at preferential rates. In addition to access via the app, you will also receive your emotì access card free of charge.

SwissPass

If you have a SwissPass, you can use it to charge your vehicle at the charging stations in the emotì network.

You can add your SwissPass to your emotì account at any time via your profile.

Payment

How much does it cost?

The rates listed apply only to emotì stations. Your emotì subscription also allows access to charging stations of our partners, where rates may differ. You can view the rates of each charging station via the map available on the emotì website and in the mobile app.


Non-members

For the "Non-member" subscription, no annual fee is required.

Each time you charge your vehicle on the emotì network, you will be billed according to the instant power delivered during the charge :

3.7 kW : CHF 0.42/kWh
11 kW : CHF 0.46/kWh
22 kW : CHF 0.50/kWh


Members

For the "Member" subscription, the monthly fee is CHF 8.00, (minimum 12 months).

Each time you charge your vehicle on the emotì network, you will be billed according to the instant power delivered during the charge :

3.7 kW : CHF 0.22/kWh
11 kW : CHF 0.26/kWh
22 kW : CHF 0.30/kWh

In addition to these two types of subscription, a parking fee is calculated as follows: 50% of the local parking fee until the vehicle is fully charged, then 200% of the local parking fee while fully charged car is parked (minimum CHF 1.-/h).

How do I pay?

To make charging your vehicle as convenient as possible, we provide you with two different ways of paying:


Direct debit

At the end of each charging session or instant reservation, the transaction amount will automatically be debited from your credit card.

Please note that, if your emotì account is in credit, it will be used to collect the transaction amount. If this credit is not sufficient, the remainder will be charged to your credit card.


Prepaid

You can top up your emotì account at any time using the following payment methods:

  • Credit cards
  • Postfinance Card
  • Bank Transfer

Please note that, if you pay by bank transfer, it may take several days to complete the transfer.

At the end of each charging session or instant reservation, the transaction amount will automatically be debited from your emotì account.

Charging

Where can I charge my vehicle?

The charging station map shows you all the charging points that you can access.

You can display the stations that are compatible with your vehicle by using the filters just above the map.

How long will it take to charge my vehicle?

Charging time depends on several factors, including the vehicle's battery capacity and the power of the charging station.

(Battery capacity) / (Charging station power)


For example, Renault Zoe:

Battery capacity 22 kWh
Charging station power 11 kW
Calculation 22 / 11 = 2 hours

This is only an approximation, because when the battery reaches a charge of 80%, the power is automatically reduced for the remaining portion of the charge. A complete recharge of the above-mentioned vehicle will take more than 2 hours.

Which stations can be reserved?

If a station can be reserved, you will see the "Reserve" button next to the station's picture.

How do I reserve a station?

If a station can be reserved, you will see the "Reserve" button next to the station's picture. You can choose the duration of your reservation, and the price will be calculated automatically.

You can see the details of your reservation at any time on your dashboard.

How much does a reservation cost?

Station operators are free to set reservation rates and no-show fees. You can view specific reservation rates and no-show fees for each station via the charging station map available on the emotì website and in the mobile app.

Is it possible to cancel a reservation?

Yes. You can cancel your reservation at any time via your "Dashboard", provided that it has not already been terminated. You will be billed for your reservation on a pro-rata basis according to its duration, i.e. from the moment you reserve the station until you cancel your reservation.
